Florida Gulf Discovery operates an Axopar 29 Sun Top, designed for smooth, stable cruising and access to shallow coastal waters.
This allows us to reach remote islands, sandbars, and quiet wildlife areas that larger tour boats cannot access.
With shaded seating and space for up to six passengers, every trip is private, comfortable, and fully customized.

About Me
My name is Pavel Popov, owner and operator of Florida Gulf Discovery LLC. I am a fully licensed U.S. Coast Guard OUPV (“6-Pack”) Captain, providing insured, professional private boating experiences throughout Gasparilla Sound, Pine Island Sound, Lemon Bay, and the surrounding Southwest Florida waters.
After decades exploring Southwest Florida’s waters, I created Florida Gulf Discovery to share places that most visitors never get to experience. Every charter is an opportunity to discover hidden beaches, quiet waterways, local wildlife, and unforgettable moments that make this coastline so special.
I’ve been cruising the waters of Southwest Florida for over 15 years, and there’s nothing I love more than showing folks the magic of this coast from the best seat in the house: our boat!
Whether we’re spotting dolphins, exploring hidden mangrove tunnels, or dropping anchor at a secret sandbar, I make sure every tour is more than just sightseeing—it’s an adventure.
