Moving to Florida’s West Coast changed my life in ways I never imagined. What began as a new chapter with my husband quickly became a love story with nature itself — with the turquoise waters, gentle breezes, and endless sunsets that color the Gulf Coast. Every walk, every boat trip, every shimmering horizon has left a mark on my heart.

Discovering My New Home

My first encounter with Florida was two and a half years ago, when my husband and I decided to move here. It was love at first sight. We settled on the Gulf Cove area of Port Charlotte — a place that instantly felt like home.

Of course, the first place my husband took me was Manasota Key, Lemon Bay, and Stump Pass. We walked along the Gulf shore from Chadwick Park at Englewood Beach to Stump Pass (before Milton), and I still can’t fully describe how wonderful it was. The turquoise water shimmered under the bright sun, the air was warm and soft, and beside me was my loved one — and a dear friend we hadn’t seen in a long time. It was the end of March, but it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t want to go for a swim!

Exploring by Boat

Our way back led us through Stump Pass State Park, where the view of Sky Alley opened before us — calm, vast, and endlessly beautiful. This quickly became one of our favorite places.

Later, when we had the chance to travel by boat, a new chapter of discovery began. We explored the most breathtaking places along our coast: Gasparilla Pass and Little Gasparilla Island, where we love to fish and watch dolphins and ospreys dance in the sky; Boca Grande Pass, a historic site crowned by its charming lighthouse; Cayo Costa Island, wild and serene; and Cabbage Key, with its cozy restaurant and wonderful cuisine.

So many unforgettable moments are tied to these places — moments filled with laughter, quiet wonder, and the feeling that life here, on Florida’s West Coast, truly is a piece of paradise.

A Place Where the Heart Finds Peace

Every day here feels like a small miracle — the kind that unfolds quietly, in the rhythm of the waves and the glow of the sunset. Florida’s West Coast has taught me to slow down, to listen to the sea, and to appreciate the beauty in simple moments. It’s more than just a place to live; it’s where my heart found peace, where love and nature meet, and where the sun truly meets the sea.
