2Departure and Service Area
Most tours depart from Eldred’s Marina, 6300 Boca Grande Causeway in Placida. This location avoids the long approach required from inland marinas and places your group close to Boca Grande, Gasparilla Sound, and the Intracoastal Waterway.
Our broad service area follows the Southwest Florida coastline from Venice in the North to Naples in the South. The distance traveled depends on the length of your tour, sea and weather conditions, and the stops you select. Longer destinations require more travel time, so Captain Pavel will help build a realistic route that keeps the day enjoyable.
3Explore North from Placida
A route North from Placida enters Lemon Bay and reveals the protected waters behind Englewood and Manasota Key. Depending on tour length and conditions, possible highlights include Cape Haze, Ski Alley at Milton Pass, Stump Pass Beach State Park, Lemon Bay’s mangrove shorelines, Manasota Key, Caspersen Beach, Snake Island, and Venice Inlet.
This direction works especially well for guests interested in quiet cruising, dolphin watching, beach time, paddleboarding, e-foil activities, waterfront dining, or searching for shells and fossilized shark teeth. Stump Pass can change with storms, currents, and shifting sand, making local knowledge especially valuable.
The goal is not to rush through a checklist. We select the best combination of stops for the time available and the conditions on your tour day.
4Explore South from Placida
South of Placida, the water opens toward some of the most celebrated islands and sounds on Florida’s Gulf coast. A shorter trip can focus on Boca Grande Sandbar, Gasparilla Island, Gasparilla Sound, and Boca Grande Pass. With more time, the route can continue toward Cayo Costa, Useppa Island, Cabbage Key, Bokeelia, Pine Island Sound, North Captiva, Captiva, Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach, or farther South.
Each destination offers something different. Cayo Costa is known for undeveloped beaches and island history. Cabbage Key combines a scenic boat ride with waterfront dining, gopher tortoises, and views from its Calusa shell mound. Pine Island Sound provides broad water views, historic channels, wildlife habitat, and access to small island communities.
Trips to distant destinations such as Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach, or Naples require a longer charter and favorable conditions. Captain Pavel will explain what is practical before departure.

6Wildlife and Coastal Nature
Dolphins, manatees, ospreys, pelicans, herons, rays, and schools of fish all inhabit these coastal waters. Wildlife may appear beside the boat, near a pass, around a sandbar, or in a protected backwater where few visitors think to look.
No wildlife sighting can be guaranteed. Tides, seasons, water temperature, food sources, and natural behavior all influence where animals may be found. Captain Pavel watches for signs of activity while maintaining a respectful distance and never forcing an encounter.
The landscape itself is part of the discovery: mangrove islands, seagrass shallows, changing passes, Gulf beaches, tidal creeks, and water colors shaped by depth, current, sky, and bottom conditions.
7Your Boat and Captain
Your tour is operated aboard a 2024 Axopar 29 Sun Top powered by twin Mercury 200 hp V6 four-stroke engines. The boat’s stable design, protected seating, shade, quiet performance, and two tables make it well suited to both open-water travel and relaxed days around islands and bays.
Captain Pavel holds a USCG OUPV six-pack license and carries no more than six passengers. His background as a land surveyor, ski instructor, ski patrol member, and whitewater rafting guide brings together navigation, safety awareness, outdoor judgment, and a genuine love of exploration.
You will receive practical guidance about the route, changing conditions, local history, and the waterways you cross. When the depth or bottom conditions are uncertain, the boat slows down. A good adventure always begins with sound judgment.
8Plan Your Private Tour
Bring sun protection, a hat, towels, sunglasses, and comfortable clothing suited to the forecast. Water shoes are useful for beaches and sandbars. If you plan to swim, shell, paddleboard, or use the e-foil, bring appropriate swimwear and a dry change of clothes.
Tell Captain Pavel what matters most to your group when you book. Share the ages of children, mobility concerns, celebration plans, preferred activities, and any destination you hope to visit. This makes it easier to recommend the right trip length and route.
