Private Boat Tours to Sarasota County FL
Explore the Sarasota County coastline on a private boat tour with Captain Pavel and Florida Gulf Discovery LLC. We depart from Eldred’s Marina in Placida and travel North toward Venice, exploring scenic waterways, beaches, islands, sandbars, and coastal destinations along the way.
The journey is part of the experience. Instead of simply traveling from one point to another, we can make customized stops based on weather, tides, water conditions, and what you would like to do during your time on the water.
Swim in clear shallow water, relax on a beach, search for shells, explore coastal scenery, or watch dolphins and other wildlife. Every trip is private, allowing the route and stops to be adjusted around your interests.
Departing from Placida
Your Sarasota County boat tour begins at Eldred’s Marina in Placida. From here, we head North through protected coastal waters toward Englewood, Manasota Key, and Venice.
Placida provides direct access to some of Southwest Florida’s most interesting waterways, making the trip North an experience from the moment we leave the marina.
Because the charter is private, there is no fixed group itinerary. We can adjust the pace, route, and stops around your interests and the conditions on the water.
North from Placida to Sarasota County
Traveling North from Placida, the coastline gradually changes from barrier islands and quiet residential waterways to the beaches, passes, bays, and coastal communities of southern Sarasota County.
The route can include portions of Lemon Bay, Manasota Key, Stump Pass, Caspersen Beach, and the Venice area. Rather than making Venice the only objective, we treat the entire coastal journey as part of the tour.
Interesting locations encountered along the way can become spontaneous stops for swimming, relaxing, sightseeing, shelling, or simply enjoying the surroundings.
Englewood & Lemon Bay
As we travel North, Lemon Bay and the Englewood area provide a mix of protected water, mangrove shoreline, residential canals, islands, and open coastal views.
This section of the trip is ideal for relaxed cruising and wildlife observation. Dolphins can appear anywhere along the route, and shallow areas often provide opportunities to see fish, rays, birds, and other marine life.
Depending on your itinerary, we can continue directly North or slow the trip down and spend more time exploring interesting locations around Lemon Bay.
Manasota Key & Stump Pass
Manasota Key and Stump Pass are among the highlights of the route between Placida and Venice. The area combines Gulf beaches, shallow coastal water, shifting sandbars, mangroves, and excellent views of the surrounding shoreline.
Stump Pass can be a good place to stop when conditions allow. Guests may want to swim, walk the beach, relax in shallow water, look for shells, or simply spend time away from the busier shoreline.
Because tides and currents continually shape this area, every visit can look slightly different.
Caspersen Beach & Venice
Continuing North toward Venice, we reach the Sarasota County coastline near Caspersen Beach and the Venice area.
Caspersen Beach is well known for its natural shoreline and shelling opportunities. Approaching this part of the coast by boat provides a different perspective from arriving by road and allows the surrounding waterways to become part of the experience.
Venice can serve as the northern destination of the trip, but the route can be adjusted depending on how much time you would like to spend at beaches, passes, wildlife areas, or other stops along the way.
Beaches, Sandbars & Shelling
One of the advantages of exploring the coast by private boat is the flexibility to stop when we find an inviting beach, sandbar, or shallow area.
Depending on conditions, your tour can include time for:
- Swimming in shallow coastal water
- Relaxing on a quiet beach or sandbar
- Searching for shells
- Walking along natural shoreline
- Taking photos and enjoying coastal scenery
No two days on the water are exactly the same, which is why we choose stops according to the conditions rather than following a rigid schedule.
Dolphins & Coastal Wildlife
Dolphins are frequently seen throughout the waterways of Southwest Florida, and encounters can happen at almost any point during the trip. Sometimes they appear briefly in the distance, while on other days they may travel alongside the boat.
The route also passes through habitat used by seabirds, rays, fish, manatees, and other coastal wildlife. Every sighting is different, and wildlife is observed naturally rather than as part of a scheduled stop.
Traveling at a comfortable pace gives us time to enjoy these unexpected moments when they happen.
Customize Your Tour
Every Florida Gulf Discovery trip is private and customized. You can spend more time cruising, exploring beaches, searching for shells, swimming, watching dolphins, sightseeing, or simply relaxing on the water.
The final route depends on your interests, trip length, weather, tides, and water conditions. We can focus on one area or combine several experiences into a single journey along the coast.
From Placida North toward Venice, the goal is not simply to reach a destination. The entire trip is designed to let you experience Southwest Florida from the water.
